General Assembly Recap: "How Do We Build Power for the People?"
Over 70 community members gathered at the Tulsa Downtown Library to ask one question: How do we build power for the people?
Revolution from the ground up, without rulers.
We are fighting for a future without hierarchy, where all people govern together. That means not only tearing down the hierarchies that exist, but also building the non-hierarchical alternatives.
At Cooperation Tulsa, we empower and uplift our community through collective and inclusive practices. We strive to build a more equitable and resilient city by fostering local food sovereignty, expanding communal access to land, and promoting direct democracy.
This isn't something we can trust to others to do for us. A radical transformation requires radical action by us. There is no hero coming. We are the ones we've been waiting for.
Our organization is powered entirely by volunteer effort and we make all our decisions through direct democracy and consensus. We are not bought by corporations or the government. Our money comes from recurring donations and it goes straight to our projects.
Revolution requires an alternative system and everything we do is about building that alternative.
Through Flat Rock Community Garden, we grow food by and for the community — building autonomy from corporate food systems.
We run free education sessions on topics from anarcho-syndicalism to permaculture — learning together, not from the top down.
Medical care networks, community safety, childcare, tool libraries, and direct support — solidarity, not charity.
We support building worker-owned businesses where decisions are made democratically by the people doing the work.
We look out for each other. Community safety means neighbors protecting neighbors, not relying on outside institutions.
Every decision we make is through consensus. No bosses, no board of directors — just people governing themselves.

How can you help? In addition to financial support to keep our projects going, we always need new volunteers. You don't need to be a member to help out!
If you want to be a member of the organization, ask one of us how you can apply. And if you have skills or access to resources that might help us, just say so.
